Mission
The primary mission of the Bioinformatics Shared Resource is to support the implementation of bioinformatics resources for cancer research at Dartmouth. Our goal is to provide expert consultation and collaboration for research projects of NCCC members. The Bioinformatics Shared Resource also strives to educate members of the community in different aspects of computational biology by providing regular workshops and seminars.
Services
The goal is to apply bioinformatics approaches to the analysis of the genome, transcriptome, proteome and metabolome. The Bioinformatics Shared Resource also provides access to the Discovery supercomputer.
Genomic analysis
- Manipulation of nucleic acid and amino acid sequences
- Database mining (motif searching, gene identification)
- Phylogenetic analysis
- DNA arrays: mutation screens, SNP analysis, structural analysis
Transcriptome analysis
- Expression analysis: genes (microarrays)
Proteome analysis
- Expression analysis: proteins (mass spectrometry)
Metabolome analysis
- Expression analysis: metabolites (mass spectrometry)
Charges
Major projects are encouraged to budget additional time for bioinformatics help.
