"One thing I have found at Norris Cotton Cancer Center is that no matter how much time I need to talk or ask questions, the doctors give it to me. I never feel rushed, or that I am inconveniencing them. I faced some difficult choices and challenges during my treatment for breast cancer, and the Shared Decision Making program and my doctors helped me to make the decisions I needed to, and made me feel in control of what was happening. I realized that I was going to be okay, because I had people who were helping me to make a plan, and when I have a plan, I can follow it through and I know I'll be okay. My breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Kari Rosenkranz, is such a loving person—she really helped me through it all. This past year may have presented some real challenges for me but I was able to face them with the help of Dr. Rosenkranz and the doctors and staff at Norris Cotton Cancer Center, both in Lebanon and in St. Johnsbury. They definitely made a difference in my life, and for that I will be forever thankful. And if there ever is a fan club for Dr. Rosenkranz, then I want to be president!" |
