Outpatient Hematology Oncology Infusion Suite

Our infusion suite provides outpatient chemotherapy and biologic response modifiers to a wide range of adult oncology patients. In addition we offer supportive care such as:

  • Antibiotic therapy
  • Blood transfusions

Other medications that enhance pain and symptom control in both oncology and non-oncology patients As a hematology oncology infusion suite, we provide care to patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation. Beyond infusions, nurses have the opportunity to perform outpatient bone marrow biopsies.

Unit Culture

We use a collaborative approach to patient care and have close working relationships with the medical care team, including physicians and nurse practitioners. The suite enjoys the support of a dedicated hematology/ oncology pharmacist, dietician, social worker and palliative care nurse practitioner. We also work in collaboration with the comprehensive disease management groups. A small, close-knit group with a strong team approach to patient care, we benefit from the support of a clinical nurse specialist who serves in both inpatient and outpatient units.

Nurses enjoy working our prized weekday 10-hour shifts. Our program is expanding in leaps and bounds, making the Hematology Oncology Infusion Suite a great career move.

Educational Opportunities

Our management team is dedicated to continuing education and staff development. We offer many educational opportunities including financial support for formal education. New team members enjoy a comprehensive competency-based orientation program that generally runs for six to eight weeks.
