Center for the Evaluative Clinical Sciences
Norris Cotton Cancer Center
Dartmouth Medical School New Hampshire

The Center for the Evaluative Clinical Sciences and Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth invite candidates with interest and experience in health services or outcomes research related to the quality of care provided to patients with cancer to apply for this tenure-track position.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team that is exploring the causes and consequences of regional and provider-specific differences in clinical practice and health outcomes and produces the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care.  The candidate will be expected to lead the development of a research program focused on understanding and improving health system performance related to cancer.  Position prerequisites include an MD, PhD or other terminal degree and a successful track-record of peer-reviewed publication.  Because the CECS has developed one of the largest Medicare claims research database outside the federal government, preference will be given to candidates with experience using these or similar data.   We are also particularly interested in candidates with an interest in racial, ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in care.

If the applicant is a practicing clinician, an appointment in the relevant clinical department will be sought, with the possibility of up 20% of the investigator’s time devoted to clinical care.  Additional roles could include mentoring research fellows or PhD students, teaching in the undergraduate or graduate programs of Dartmouth College.

Dartmouth is located in the Upper Valley area of New Hampshire and Vermont, a vibrant community offering excellent schools and outstanding quality-of-life opportunities in a beautiful rural environment.
