This event has now passed. Please join us next year!
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
DHMC, South Mall, Level 3, Main Entrance Rotunda
Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the DHMC Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology are hosting a free prevention program for the public in honor of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
If you are over 50, you are at risk for colorectal cancer. Research has shown that this type of cancer is preventable by having regular screenings.
Come to this free information fair to learn about:
- Screening options: watch videos, see diagrams, and pick up informational pamphlets to find out more about each type of screening option; physicians will be available to answer your questions on the risks and benefits of each procedure
- Surgical treatment for colorectal cancer: speak directly with one of our surgeons
- Risk assessment: answer a short questionnaire and receive advice from our colorectal team if you are at risk
- Healthy lifestyles: learn diet and exercise tips to prevent colon cancer
- Be the GI doc: do a colonoscopy yourself using real scopes on a model colon
- Cover yourself: if you’re ready, schedule an appointment for a colonoscopy
Enjoy a free lunch buffet while you’re there! No pre-registration is necessary.
To schedule a colonoscopy appointment now, call (603) 650-5030.
