September 15 - 18, 2009
Seventy percent of patients in need of a life-saving marrow or blood stem cell transplant do not have a matched donor in their family. Registering to be a marrow donor requires only a simple cheek swab to determine tissue type, plus contact and health information. If you become a donor, you offer hope to an adult or child fighting leukemia, lymphoma, or other blood cancer.
The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at Norris Cotton Cancer Center is sponsoring a week of donor registration events in September. There is no cost to the donor to register at this drive. Bring health insurance information if possible, as tissue typing costs may be covered by insurance.
