Biography:
Dr. Kenneth Meehan received his BS in 1981 from Fairfield University, and his MD in 1986 from Georgetown University where he also completed a internship/residency in 1989. In 1992 Dr. Meehan completed a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. From 1992 to 1994 Dr. Meehan was a Research Fellow and Associate Clinical Staff member for the Section of Hematology/Oncology at the DHMC. In 1994 he joined the faculty at the Georgetown University Medical Center and in held a variety of positions there including Director, Bone Marrow Transplantation Clinic and Director, Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation Research Laboratory, and Director, National Marrow Donor Program (Transplant Center). In July 2001 Dr. Meehan returned to the DHMC as Associate Professor of Medicine for the Section of Hematology/Oncology, Director, Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, and as Associate Section Chief, Hematology/Oncology.

Research Interests:
1) Evaluation of pathogenesis of autologous graft versus host disease and graft versus tumor effects in the setting of autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation; 2) Adoptive cellular immunotherapy in the transplant setting.
