The Norris Cotton Cancer Center Distinguished Lecture Series was established in 2007 to give added distinction to existing and future events that bring eminent physicians and scientific investigators to Dartmouth. These special events are prime educational opportunities for medical students and trainees, and offer significant opportunities to Cancer Center investigators to gain insights on important contemporary issues in cancer research and clinical care.

Inaugural Marilyn K. Bedell Lecture in Oncology Nursing

Barbara L. Summers, PhD, RN, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, is the inaugural speaker for a new distinguished lecture series honoring the retired director of oncology nursing at Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Marilyn K. Bedell. Dr. Summers will talk about "Reclaiming Our Passion: The Evidence for Personal Renewal," on November 8, 2007, from 12:00-1:00 pm in Auditorium E of DHMC. 30th David B. Kaner Memorial Lecture

Douglas B. Evans, MD, Surgical Oncology Chief at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, will present the 30th David B. Kaner Memorial Lecture on "Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia: Phenotype, Genotype and Principles of Oncology." MEN is an inherited disorder of the endocrine glands. Dr. Evans' lecture will be on November 15, 2007, 12:00-1:00 pm in Auditorium E of DHMC. Please register online if you wish to attend.
