The Comprehensive Breast Program is dedicated to compassionate care and attention to our patients' needs. We offer services that support each patient's emotional and physical needs throughout the treatment process.
A Breast Care Coordinator helps guide patients and families through the health-care system. She is there to provide support and guidance every step of the way.
Center for Shared Decision Making
The Center for Shared Decision Making at DHMC offers women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer help with making health care decisions. They have decision-making tools that focus on a patient’s options, values and data on treatment outcomes. A patient can schedule a counseling appointment, or borrow VHS tapes, DVDs, audiotapes and booklets on specific topics. For more information, call (603) 650-5578.
Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic
One of the ways we offer personalized care is though our Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic, where individual appointments with cancer specialists are coordinated on a single day. Coordinated care eliminates delays and provides each patient with an individualized treatment plan. Together you and your providers discuss the best course of treatment, based on their knowledge of the latest research and therapies, and your preferences and values.
The Familial Cancer Program provides counseling for people who may have an increased risk of cancer because of their family history. The Palliative Care Program offers a comprehensive approach to living fully with a serious illness or advanced disease. They have in-patient and out-patient services, and also offer end-of-life hospice care. For more information, call (603) 650-5402.
